JOB SUMMARY:
This position will be expected to be proficient in one or more of the CBM Technologies (Vibration analysis, Electric motor diagnostics; electrical and mechanical, Infrared Thermography, or Oil Analysis) and to provide backup support in the other technologies. The successful candidate will be required to become certified in multiple CBM Technologies. They will assist the other specialists in their daily schedule. Candidate will be required to collect, integrate, analyze technical data on specific plant machinery or a plant system and recommend schedules for maintenance.
This position is required to work with plant team leaders, planners, system owners, equipment owners and the Southern Company Generation Routine Maintenance Group to put the best predictive maintenance technologies in place to ensure accurate assessment of component conditions. The candidates will make independent decisions on the course of action to take on machinery repair/replacement based on data collected and the analysis of that data along with other pertinent information. Effectively document all pertinent information, findings, and recommendations in the computer software.
JOB REQUIREMENTS :
Two-year technical degree preferred
Two years of prior CBM experience in a plant environment required
Knowledge of power plant fundamentals, maintenance and operations.
Proficient in computer software
Proven interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work with a wide range of electronic field equipment and tools
Strong mechanical or electrical background preferred
Strong organization and analytical skills
Self-starter who can work independently
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Complete all qualification requirements, obtain CBM technology Diagnostics and backup technology Certification, and maintain CBM Certification in accordance with Southern Company Generation Requirements
Regularly acquire data/samples on plant equipment; use Condition Based Maintenance technologies as well as other condition-indicators such as performance data, operator Rounds data, PM results and work order history to evaluate and diagnose maintenance needs
Implement/maintain data collection, trending, and diagnostics as specified in the applicable maintenance strategy documents”
Effectively utilize computer software to communicate, maintain, and review CBM Technology Examinations, maintenance recommendations, Equipment Assessments, case histories, and cost-benefit analysis
Guide Maintenance Strategy and provide Operational Guidance in the expertise area
Communicate with Plant Management; Corporate Management; Vendor Management; Peer Groups and Utility Experts concerning operation, maintenance repairs, replacement, modifications, improvements and schedules
Establish an ongoing relationship with key vendors; gather and analyze acceptance data on new/rebuilt equipment
Research to stay informed of latest PM technology developments; participate in CBM user groups, and communicate with other CBM personnel to share information and expertise
