Nuclear Operations Plant Instructor

JOB SUMMARY

The Nuclear Plant Instructor position will be responsible for classroom instruction using various computer related media, developing training materials, and processing / maintaining training records for assigned area of responsibility.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Developing /reviewing training materials to be used in the training programs

  • Conducting training sessions to ensure plant staff is trained, retrained and qualified as required

  • Assist in determining training program effectiveness

  • Maintaining plant training records and qualification programs for plant employees

  • Conducting needs, job and task analysis

  • Conducting quality reviews, research and evaluation as requested by the training supervisor

  • Ensuring training programs reinforce standards and expectations

  • Assist in outages by fulfilling temporary assignment in the plant during outages

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent

  • US NRC senior reactor operator license or reactor operator license desired

  • Previously licensed SRO or RO at a BWR plant or BWR certification desired

  • Prior Navy Nuclear Power experience desired for non commercial experience

Experience Requirements

  • A total of five (5) years of power plant experience of which one (1) year is nuclear power plant experience.

  • A maximum of two (2) years experience may be fulfilled by academic or related technical training on a one-for-one basis.

  • Previous instructor experience desired

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Detailed knowledge of plant procedures and regulations in assigned area

  • Detailed knowledge of plant systems and processes

  • Working knowledge of computer software programs supporting assigned area
